Why I became an editor
I have always been an avid reader and have been writing fiction for the last few years.
After having the first couple of my short stories published, I discovered that I had a desire to pursue proofreading and editing.
I love words and I can't seem to get enough of them.
Background and experience
I am a writer of fiction. I have had several short stories published in the horror genre. I also edited the dystopian horror novel Blackacre Rising by John C. Adams.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love when writing flows as though you are listening to a musical composition. Proofreading allows me to be a part of that.
If I can help a writer polish their manuscript or essay, there is no better feeling in the world.
Favorite book:
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
Hobbies:
I love writing. I write horror, and I'm usually thinking of my next story or reading a Stephen King novel.
Editing tips:
I always give it at least one read just to get the feel of the style and tone. And, once I start the proofreading, I always have a checklist next to me.
