Why I became an editor
I have been performing professionally in theatre since my early teens. Training in speech, singing, and textual analysis has given me a sharp eye for detail and and a deep understanding of narrative voice. I use that training now to help others improve and polish their writing.

Why I love proofreading and editing
I love helping people refine their writing to express their ideas more clearly. I’m well-traveled and equipped with knowledge from an eclectic resume, including arts education, the sports industry, and production services for theatre festivals. I have adapted years of practical communication experience to my proofreading practice.
Favorite book:
A childhood favorite: The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, who made incredibly fun use of footnotes (and worked as an editor too!).
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I'm writing science fiction plays!
Editing tips:
I always start by marking a copy of the document by hand, whether it's a print-out or a PDF saved in a note-taking app. That way, I can instinctively star, circle, or underline anything that stands out.
