Favorite referencing style
APA is my favorite because it's the one I used more often at university.
Why I became an editor
After studying English language and literature, I wasn't sure what path to follow. I started teaching English as a second language to learners of all ages, and at some point, I got the idea to start looking for online jobs relevant to my studies. That's when I came across proofreading, which seemed perfect for me. Being a stickler for grammar doesn't get you many friends, but it definitely helps when you have a document to proofread!
Background and experience
I worked as a teacher of English as a second language.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love reading and I love listening to people. I love learning about their ideas, feelings, and experiences. It gives me great pleasure to know that I can help people express and communicate these ideas in the most clear and efficient way possible.
Favorite book:
Hard Times by Charles Dickens
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I like spending time with the people I love, eating, and binging Netflix shows. Often, I do all of these at the same time!
Editing tips:
When I am given a document, I like to read it once to understand its tone and style, so that when I have proofread it, its initial purpose and meaning is not distorted.
