As a furloughed bookseller, I seized the opportunity to pursue another career where I would be paid to read! I have exercised my 'red-pen' in the past, and I enjoy the challenge of a word and punctuation treasure hunt. My proofreading experience includes working on an academic textbook written by the now Head of School of Social Science at Brisbane University. I am also a bookseller with a well-known chain of bookstores in the UK. I have written for their quarterly magazine, as well as having my own column in a Learning Support magazine.
Primarily, I love to read. My friends and family would definitely describe me as a 'wordy' person (I like to take that as a compliment). The English language, with all its quirkiness and challenges, deserves to be written properly, and I enjoy helping people do this to the best of their ability. My brain also likes to be stretched. Proofreading is its own personal trainer!
