Favorite referencing style
APA is my favorite because I have the most experience with this style.
Why I became an editor
I have a lifelong passion for reading and writing fiction. Having previously worked in a fault-finding role in the financial sector, proofreading gives me the opportunity to apply my pedantic eye to the far more interesting task of correcting words and sentences, not just numbers!
Background and experience
I previously worked as a piano teacher and in a number of roles within the financial sector.
Why I love proofreading and editing
The satisfaction of creating or shaping a piece of writing – where its meaning is made clear and precise – is difficult to beat.
Favorite book:
Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones is my favorite book.
Hobbies:
When I’m not proofreading for clients, I’m either writing fiction, proofreading my own fiction, playing bad chess, drinking oolong or green tea, or spending time with my lovely sons and wife.
Editing tips:
I work with a printed copy first. I find that errors are more reliably noticed this way.
