My favorite referencing style is the Chicago Manual of Style, as it's versatile.
Why I became an editor
Before becoming an editor, my working life was mainly in corporate offices, where, no matter where I worked, I found myself constantly being asked to help with e-mails, reports, and other documents. I realized that I have a passion for helping others express their ideas and opinions. Moving into a proofreading and editing role was a logical next step for me. I find it incredibly satisfying to edit texts so that the writer's message is highlighted, front and center.
Background and experience
I’ve done proofreading and editing freelance work on Upwork.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I particularly love seeing how the writer's message comes to life during proofreading and editing. I am experienced in proofreading a wide range of texts, but I mainly edit documents in the fields of politics, business, and marketing.
Favorite book:
Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I take photos in my local park, compete with my online photography team, and go camping in the backcountry. I love nature, and I am a passionate wildlife photographer.
Editing tips:
When I'm proofreading a document, I print it out and read it on paper. I've noticed that it's easier to spot errors on a printed page than on a computer screen.
