Favorite referencing style
I like Harvard referencing the best simply because it is the style I am most familiar with, but I am happy to use any style required.
Why I became an editor
I love reading and have always had a knack for spotting errors. Becoming a proofreader lets me do something about those errors while helping others to improve their work. It is the ideal job as it fits around my family and I can spend time doing the things I enjoy.
Background and experience
This is my first entry into the world of proofreading, but I have spent lots of time over the years checking through homework for my children and work documents for friends and family.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I take pride in helping other people make their work flawless. I love reading and especially enjoy proofreading anything in the realm of social sciences and humanities, particularly geography. I also enjoy literature and fiction. I have experience with Harvard referencing, having used it throughout university, and I'm confident using APA.
Favorite book:
It is so hard to pick just one! There are so many wonderful authors. Some of my favourites are Joanne Harris, Zadie Smith, and Liane Moriarty.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I'm looking after my three kids, two rabbits, and dog. I also volunteer running a Brownie unit. I like board games, musicals, holidays, and reading.
Editing tips:
When I proofread a document, I like to have a quick read through first to check for obvious errors. I then take time looking through in greater detail to ensure nothing is missed.
