Why I became an editor
I have been an international event organizer for over 30 years and, as such, I am very organized and have great attention to detail. I have enjoyed proofreading and editing the company's promotional and operational materials.
Background and experience
As part of my role as an event organizer for over 30 years, I have been responsible for proofreading and editing all promotional and operational documents. I have also proofread various assignments for nursing degree students at Halifax University.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love proofreading! I see it as solving a puzzle—working out the errors and correcting them to produce a perfect piece of work.
Favorite book:
The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse by Charlie Mackesy is my favorite book.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I like to run my small online retail business, practice yoga, walk by the river, travel, and meet up with friends and family.
Editing tips:
When I first open a document, I read it through a couple of times, and then take a break from it to let the author's voice and tone become embedded in me.
