Favorite referencing style
My favorite referencing style is the Bluebook legal citations system.
Why I became an editor
My passion for reading and writing initially led me to pursue a legal career. After 14 years of practicing as an attorney, my passion for reading and writing remains as strong as ever and is now tempered by my extensive experience with composing concise and clear communications for a variety of audiences. I became an editor to merge my interests and expertise while helping others successfully communicate.
Background and experience
I have 14 years of experience in legal writing, including appellate brief writing.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love proofreading and editing text to refine and remove any flaws, no matter how minute they are. I also enjoy the technical and analytical process of proofreading legal referencing.
Favorite book:
My favorite reads of 2022 have been Desperate Characters by Paula Fox and Women Talking by Miriam Toews.
Hobbies:
When I am not proofreading, I am likely cooking, reading, or spending time with my family.
Editing tips:
I always read the first few pages to get a feel for the intended audience. After an initial edit, I review my edits and the original text to confirm I have not lost the reader's voice or perspective.
