Education:

Favorite referencing style
My favorite referencing style is APA, as this is the system I am most familiar with.
Why I became an editor
I have always had a love of reading and language. I studied History at university, which covered a wide range of subject areas. This involved a lot of reading, research, and writing, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed. Proofreading is an ideal job for me, as it uses many of these skills.
Background and experience
As a research consultant for a large market research agency, I managed quantitative and qualitative research projects for blue chip clients.
I also worked as a recruitment administrator for a supplier of graduate recruitment services, and I volunteered at the library as a reading assistant in a primary school.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love the process of making a piece of writing read fluently. I enjoy proofreading many subject areas including history, philosophy, ethics, and music.
Favorite book:
The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
Hobbies:
I love travel, music, and spending time with my family.
Editing tips:
Before I start proofreading a document, I read through the first few paragraphs to get a feel for the tone and style of the writing. I also find it useful to have a checklist.
