Why I became an editor
I have many years of experience in journalism, writing for newspapers and online publications. I wanted to take what I've learned and help others improve their writing. Any writer, whether they're Stephen King or Stephen Nobody, can benefit from having a fresh set of eyes read their work.
Background and experience
From 2014 to 2017, I worked in the newspaper industry, writing for the Columbia Missourian and the Washington Missourian. I covered sports, education, and other general assignments. From 2017 to 2020, I worked in marketing, working for SERVPRO of Franklin County (a restoration company) and COG Network (a cryptocurrency company).
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love being able to make somebody else's work better. It not only helps the other person improve their writing, but the experience makes me a better writer, too. I also enjoy learning about a wide range of topics through editing.
Favorite book:
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, you can find me at the gym, on the couch reading or watching TV, or playing guitar.
Editing tips:
I like to read a document out loud to make sure I'm not glossing over any mistakes.
