Favorite referencing style
APA is my favorite because it is the one I am most familiar with.
Why I became an editor
Organizing and reading are two of my favorite activities. I have my degrees in the administrative office field, and that involves both reading and organizing.
Proofreading is another way I can use my favorite skills. An organized document that is clear and easy to read is my version of a masterpiece.
Background and experience
My earliest office work included volunteer work at a local daycare. I have worked in an office as an assistant. I proofread occasionally for my brother and his classmates in academia. My most difficult assignment was a multi-page article that was going to be published. I have also worked as an ESL teacher for children.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love the finished product. When I see a document that is clearly written and perfectly punctuated, a deep feeling of personal satisfaction appears. I have proofread a variety of documents, and each one is a unique experience. I used APA when I was getting my degrees, but MLA was what I used in high school.
Favorite book:
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
Hobbies:
When I am not proofreading, I am probably volunteering or making delicious vegan food.
Editing tips:
I use the search tool for everything. I read the whole document a few times at various intervals and use checklists for all components of the document. The goal is always a clear, useful document.
